About The Author

Hi, I’m Evan Louise Madriñan, a full-time registered nurse, passionate saver, investor, blogger, and self-publishing author. I’m here to open the door and guide you on your journey into the world of finance.

My mission is to show you that even as an average employee, you and I can learn to master our own money and achieve the life we want for ourselves and our families.

ELMads.com is an author blog website designed to guide individuals with little to no knowledge of money management who have a passion for learning more but don’t know where to start. It’s also for professionals in various industries unrelated to finance who want to take control of their hard-earned money and manage it themselves.

My main focus on this website is to share valuable insights on developing the right mindset, acquiring essential skills, and gaining knowledge necessary to achieve financial independence. By guiding you through money management principles, I aim to help you change and adapt your habits and lifestyle according to your financial aspirations.

Self-Publishing Author

Evan Louise Madriñan is an avid reader, curious learner, and writer. He began his writing journey as a finance and investment blogger, crafting blogs on his website since 2020. While he may not boast a laundry list of credentials, what he does possess is a deep love for storytelling and a genuine desire to share knowledge and ideas with others.

He has devoted over a decade to the nursing profession as a registered nurse. Yet, beneath the surface, he has always been a multipotentialite at heart, driven by an insatiable curiosity to explore diverse interests beyond the confines of the nursing field. With a particular passion for finance and investing, health and fitness, psychology, and philosophy, his curiosity knows no bounds. Despite his extensive experience in nursing, it’s his passion for finance and investing that truly ignites his spirit.

Driven by a desire for financial empowerment and a thirst for knowledge, his journey has led him to delve deeper into the world of investments. Through continuous exploration and commitment, he strives to share his simple insights to help others navigate the complexities of personal finance and investment.

Writing has been the bridge for him to serve others, and this book is the culmination of countless hours spent exploring topics that fascinate him. It’s a reflection of his journey as a lifelong learner, navigating through the twists and turns of life with curiosity and an open mind.

He believes that everyone has a story worth telling, insights worth sharing to enrich others’ lives, and knowledge that should be accessible to all, regardless of one’s formal qualifications, level of intellect, age, or social status.

Tell Me More About You

I am a Filipino nurse and a first-generation immigrant in the United Kingdom, having arrived in 2018. At that time, I was a 27-year-old Millennial with only 38,400 PHP, or 549.73 GBP, to my name. By society’s standards, I was financially lagging behind compared to my Millennial peers worldwide. However, I wasn’t concerned about this at all.

I came to the UK equipped with my knowledge and skills, both in my profession and finance, and with the mindset that I would always strive to achieve the life I envision for myself, regardless of anyone else’s standards.

Fast forward to today, in an era marked by the post-global COVID-19 pandemic, higher inflation, and a rapidly changing global landscape. Despite these challenges, I have been blessed more than I deserve, particularly when it comes to my family’s finances.

I started this blog as a way to pay forward all the blessings I have received and will receive in the future. It’s also my way of showing gratitude to the people who have taught me about financial literacy.

I will be your guide to the world of finance, helping you acquire the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to confidently handle your own money. Financial literacy doesn’t require us to know everything because money management—comprising spending, saving, and investing—is 20% knowledge and 80% behavior.

That’s why my focus on this website is primarily on mindset, behaviour, and motivation. These are the most important factors in effectively managing our wealth. Think of me as your personal porter, ready to escort you to the door of financial awareness and prosperity.

What Is Your Passion?

My personal passion is to assist you and other individuals with money management because I believe it supports our physical, mental, and spiritual health. I want to play a part, no matter how small, in your life and the lives of others, so that through my simple financial blog, you can walk the path toward financial success and stability.

You don’t need millions or billions to achieve financial stability. As long as you can attain an amount that fulfills your needs and allows you to live the life you love, then that is a goal achieved for both you and me.

What Motivates You?

My motivation always stems from my desire to provide a comfortable life for my wife and my parents, ensuring they have fewer worries, even during unfortunate events. I aim for stability, safety, and security in all timeframes—whether short, midterm, or long-term.

Additionally, I am motivated by individuals who are passionate and eager to learn about finance. Seeing people benefit from the value I provide and witnessing their lives change as a result fuels my desire to share my knowledge and ideas about finance even more.

Why Are You Doing This?

I am an average person, dedicating 40–50 hours per week to my job. I am realistic about the fact that not everyone is meant to be an entrepreneur or run their own company. After all, if everyone did, there would be no professionals working in different industries anymore.

Many people become so focused on their work and profession that they eventually realize they haven’t made the most of the money they’ve earned over years of hard work.

They don’t know how to make their money work for them or where to even start. I am living proof that it’s possible to learn about finance, as long as we are eager to consume information and reap its benefits in the long run.

That’s why I created this website—to be of help and service, and to share what I’ve learned about finance. While I understand that my blog’s contents may not reach everyone, if it can reach even a few people and resonate with them, then I consider it a success. I am forever grateful and thankful for the opportunity to make a positive impact.
