Stock Stops: Where Travel Meets the Stock Exchanges
“No, the key takeaway, I now realize, is to strike the right balance between spending on the present (and only on what you value) and saving smartly for the future.”
— Bill Perkins
Introduction
I was never particularly fond of travelling. Initially, I viewed such endeavours as a complete waste of money. Why travel when you’d spend hundreds to thousands of pounds you’d worked so hard to earn? It made far more sense to focus on other pursuits: learning, applying that knowledge, and earning more money through my passions for finance, investing, and writing.
Then I realised I had begun living the life of an oversaver, and overinvesting—too fixated on creating a stable and independent future. I hadn’t recognised that I was living in the future instead of living in the present.
To truly live is to embrace the moment, not only for ourselves but for our families, because that’s all there truly is.
I needed to free myself from the shackles of my biased thoughts toward travelling and learn to be flexible enough to also prioritise my wife’s wishes to see the world.
I’m not rich. I’m an employee with dreams and what I believe is a calling. That means taking risks — not reckless ones, but intentional steps toward my goals — while making sure my wife and I continue to build a shared life, full of shared interests.
My passions for finance, investing, history, philosophy, and writing ultimately led me here. To explore the world is to learn more about what has transpired in the past, to witness different cultures and their differences from what I knew growing up, and to discover what might help me grow further.
I now understand that travelling is no longer merely a waste—it’s an investment in education and learning. To become an effective communicator through writing, one must continuously educate oneself to keep expanding their mental horizons.
As Zora Neale Hurston said, “A writer needs knowledge of the world.”

And thus, the birth of my lifetime travel aims. To visit a stock exchange in every country that has one.
Why? Because stock exchanges aren’t just iconic buildings—they’re the financial lifeblood of nations. They fuel business growth, generate jobs, and empower everyday people to build long-term wealth.
This page is a visual testament to one belief I hold dear, and also want to relay to my readers.
✨ Where there’s a stock market, there’s money to be made—to reach our financial goals and build wealth for the long haul.
The bigger point? Stock markets have existed for centuries in some countries, and others are catching up. It’s a global movement.

What Will You Find on This Page
This page is a personal project—something my wife and I started together in December 2024 and plan to continue for as long as God allows us.
It’s a collection of every stock exchange we’ve visited across the world. Each stop is documented with a passport-style infographic, where I’ve shared information about the visited exchange, its main index, the country’s currency, and some unique financial history. Simple, visual, and easy to grasp.
But beyond that, I’ve taken time to write a dedicated blog article post for each exchange, where I dive deeper into the investment landscape, the city’s financial past, and a bit of its economic context. You’ll also get to read personal statements—what stood out to me, what I learned, and how it connects back to investing.
My hope is simple:
That this page helps you see that stock market investing isn’t just charts and numbers.
It’s real. It’s global. It’s one of the best tools we have for building long-term wealth.
If you’ve ever felt unsure about investing or don’t know where to start, may this page give you a new perspective.
Let’s learn together. Let’s grow wiser. And may your own journey to wealth accumulation begin here.
